PUBLIC NOTICE

Yesterday afternoon, the Fondo de Garantía de Depósitos en Establecimientos Bancarios has been informed by Barclays Bank, SA of having been summoned by the Court of First Instance nº 4 of Madrid, in a proceeding of execution of judicial titles nº 1.521/2005, in it a writ has been issued on October, 13,  2005, by which a incidental complaint formulated by Mr. Domingo LÓpez Alonso has been admitted against Barclays Bank, SA, giving notification of a liquidation of interests amounting € 1,312,616,167.34, in order that in a period of ten days, they answer what estimate convenient.

Without prejudice of other proper performances, inside the given term, Barclays Bank, SA, under the judicial and economic responsibility of the Fondo de Garantía de Depósitos en Establecimientos Bancarios, which assume this contingency,  will be opposed to this pretence.
